How to configure Fleetr app?

How to configure Fleetr app?

Introduction

In this guide, we will be going over a few details to get you started with Fleetr and how to make the best of what we have to offer. We will be discussing:

  • Live View

  • Fleet Configuration

  • Alert Configuration

  • Edit driver and vehicle information

By the time you initially order your devices and get our welcome email, allow from 24-48 to start seeing your vehicles on the platform. During this time we are in the process of activating and sending them to you!

Live View

As you access your account for the first time you will come across our LiveView map. In this map, you will see all your vehicles once they have been activated and connected. There is a couple of things to note to start using Fleetr.

  • Once the devices have been connected to your vehicle, you will need to initiate a trip for more than 3 minutes to start seeing the vehicle on the map.
  • When a vehicle is moving, the vehicle will update its location every minute.

Fleet Configuration

To get you started up, we have a few ways that you can configure your fleet. Using our Admin module, located in the top left of our navigation bar, you can configure:

  • Metric system (Preset - customaryUS)
  • Timezone (Preset - Based on billing address)
  • Overspeed (Preset - Duration: 60 seconds, Speed over the limit: 10 mph)
  • Fleet schedules (Monday - Friday from 9:00 AM-6:00 PM)

Metric System

This section gives you the ability to choose if you would like to use between kph or mph as a measurement when looking at the speed of your vehicles.

Timezone

We service fleets all around the US including Canada and Mexico, you can configure the timezone based on wherever your fleet is.

Overspeed

This configuration helps you control the alerts that you receive whenever one of your drivers is speeding. The tolerance overspeed allows you to determine what speed is allowed over the limit in any given street or highway and the duration threshold gives you control over for how long they are allowed to maintain a certain speed before it triggers an alert.

ex. As a fleet manager, I don't want my drivers to be speeding more than 10mph over the limit for more than 10 seconds. If any driver is driving more than 10mph over the limit for more than 10 seconds, I want to get an alert.

Fleet schedules

This configuration allows you to set a custom schedule for your whole fleet, that if triggered it will set off an after-hours alert. You can simply set the days and hours to alert you whenever a vehicle is moved and you will receive a notification to your device.

Ex. I don't want my drivers to be moving any vehicles after between the times of 8:00 AM-4:00 PM on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Notification Configuration

As a fleet manager, you can be in full control of the alerts you receive from your fleet. Fleetr gives you the ability to receive notifications on:

  • Harsh Braking
  • After Hours (can be configured in the admin module)
  • Idling (a vehicle that is on but not moving for more than 10 minutes)
  • Speeding (can be configured in the admin module)
  • Device disconnection (after 48 hours of disconnection)

To configure what alerts you want to receive you simply go to the Notifications Module and go to "Set up notifications" at the bottom.

Edit Driver and Vehicle Info

Once you log into our platform for the first time you will see that you will have a number of drivers and vehicles equal to the number of devices that you purchased. As a fleet manager, you have the ability to edit both vehicles and drivers to any specified naming that fits your workflow. By default, your vehicles will have dummy names for both drivers and vehicles until they are edited.

Edit Driver

You will first notice that all drivers associated with vehicles will have the name "Unknown driver 1". To edit a driver you can click on the Driver Module, click on a specific driver and go to the breadcrumbs on the top right. For drivers you can edit the following information:

  • Name
  • Last name
  • Email
  • Phone number

Note: If you edit to a new driver, all past score data will remain with the most recent driver

Edit Vehicle

Once your devices have been activated (automated by us) and you can go ahead start editing the information of the vehicles you will be using when you connect the devices. In the Driver Module, you can access the specific vehicles information and add the make, model, year, and license plate at any time.
