Fleetr Basic Overview

Fleetr Basic Overview

Fleetr Basic gives you the most essential functionality you need to track your fleet and be on top on where your drivers are at all time. In this article we will be discussing in detail the different functionalities that Fleetr Basic includes, which are:

  • LiveView
  • Admin
  • Notification
  • Driver list
  • Vehicle list

 Live View

As you access your account for the first time you will come across our LiveView map. In this map, you will see all your vehicles once they have been activated and connected. There are a couple of things to note to start using Fleetr.

  • Once the devices have been connected to your vehicle, you will need to initiate a trip for more than 3 minutes to start seeing the vehicle on the map.
  • When a vehicle is moving, the vehicle will update its location every minute.

In this article, I will be discussing several subjects of our LiveView functionalities:

  • Driver Tooltip
  • Vehicle Status
  • Satellite View

Driver Tooltip

Driver Tooltip informs you of all the details you need to know about a specific vehicle or driver. If you hover your mouse over a specific driver you will be able to see:

  • Drivers name
  • The model name of the vehicle
  • License plate
  • Status of vehicle
  • The last update received from the device

Vehicle Status

You will see that vehicles have 3 states in our LiveView.

Driven vehicle: When a vehicle has this status it means that is actively engaged in a trip and moving.

Stopped: This means that the vehicle is stationary with the engine off.

No signal vehicle: If a vehicle was driving but has lost its signal for more than 20 minutes.

Satellite View

If you are looking for a more detailed view of where your vehicles are you can click on our Satellite View feature on the top right of your map.

Admin

The admin module is used for some administrative tasks that give the fleet manager the power to configure their fleet in their own way. There are two parts to our Admin Module:

  • Fleet configuration
  • Change Password

Fleet Configuration

To get you started up we have a few ways that you can configure your fleet. Using our Admin module, located in the top left of our navigation bar, you can configure:

  • Metric system (Preset - customaryUS)
  • Timezone (Preset - Based on billing address)
  • Overspeed (Preset - Duration: 60 seconds, Speed over the limit: 10 mph)
  • Fleet schedules (Monday - Friday from 9:00 AM-6:00 PM)

Metric System

This section gives you the ability to choose if you would like to use between kph or mph as a measurement when looking at the speed of your vehicles.

Timezone

We service fleets all around the US including Canada and Mexico, you can configure the timezone based on wherever your fleet is.

Overspeed

This configuration helps you control the alerts that you receive whenever one of your drivers is speeding. The tolerance overspeed allows you to determine what speed is allowed over the limit in any given street or highway and the duration threshold gives you control over for how long they are allowed to maintain a certain speed before it triggers an alert.

ex. As a fleet manager, I don't want my drivers to be speeding more than 10mph over the limit for more than 10 seconds. If any driver is driving more than 10mph over the limit for more than 10 seconds, I want to get an alert.

Fleet schedules

This configuration allows you to set a custom schedule for your whole fleet, that if triggered it will set off an after-hours alert. You can simply set the days and hours to alert you whenever a vehicle is moved and you will receive a notification to your device.

Ex. I don't want my drivers to be moving any vehicles after between the times of 8:00 AM-4:00 PM on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Change Password

In the top left bar, you will see an avatar icon right above "Live View" when you click you will see our "Admin Module" pop up. Then you will click on "Change Password".

Clicking on it will take you to the Change Password page where you will be able to input your new password.

Notifications

Many fleet managers find value in being alerted whenever their drivers report any erratic behavior that might cause an accident or costly to their business. Fleetr provides a collection of alerts that lets a fleet manager be always on top of how his/her drivers are driving in the field. In this article, we will discuss:

  • Notification history
  • Notification configuration

Notification History

You can access notifications by clicking on the "Notifications" button in our navigator on the left or by clicking the bell icon right next to our search bar.

Our notification module records the following events:

  • After Hours
  • Speeding

More details on these below

If you find that you are getting too many notifications and want to mark them all as read you can go into the top of the history and you will see our "Mark all as Read" feature, by doing this it will mark all notifications as read but the history will remain.

You can also lookup an exact date that you would like to see alerts for using our date picker right below the bell icon like shown above, this will allow you to filter alerts by day.

Notification Configuration

As a fleet manager, you can be in full control of the alerts you receive from your fleet. Fleetr gives you the ability to receive notifications on:

  • After Hours (can be configured in the admin module)
  • Speeding (can be configured in the admin module)

To configure what alerts you want to receive you simply go to the Notifications Module and go to "Set up notifications" at the bottom.

Driver and Vehicle List

We know how important is to keep track of all your drivers so these two modules help you have a high-level view of all your vehicles and drivers in addition to seeing the current status of the driver.
