Driver & Fleet Scoring Guide

Driver & Fleet Scoring Guide

The Scores module provides comprehensive telemetry analytics to evaluate fleet-wide performance and individual driver behavior over specific date ranges. Performance is measured across two primary pillars: Safety and Efficiency.

1. Performance Scoring Pillars & Metrics

Performance scores range from 0 to 100 and are color-coded into three benchmark tiers:

  • Good (Blue): 67 – 100

  • Average (Orange): 34 – 66

  • Poor (Red): 0 – 33 (Requires immediate driver coaching)

Safety Score

Evaluates aggressive or high-risk driving habits based on incident frequency, severity, duration, and overall driving time:

  • Hard Acceleration: Rapid speed increases.

  • Hard Braking: Sudden or forceful deceleration events.

  • Hard Turning: Excessive lateral force during cornering.

  • Overspeeding: Exceeding set speed thresholds or posted limits.

Efficiency Score

Measures fuel conservation and operational habits:

  • Acceleration Energy: Smoothness of speed adjustments to minimize fuel burn.

  • Idling: Total time engine runs without vehicle movement (idle time).

  • Speed Economy: Operating within optimal speed bands to preserve fuel economy.

2. Dashboard Views & Analytics Tools

Use the bottom navigation bar to toggle between the three primary analytical views: Overview, Fleet, and Driver.

Overview Tab

Displays visual gauge summary rings for your fleet's aggregate Safety and Efficiency ratings. Surrounding sub-gauges show quick scores for individual safety metrics (Hard Accel, Hard Turning, Hard Braking, Overspeeding) and efficiency metrics (Acceleration Energy, Idling).

Fleet View Tab

Provides high-level fleet management trends and comparison charts:

  • General Metrics Bar: Summarizes aggregate numbers for Fleet Safety, Fleet Efficiency, Total Trips, Average Trip Distance, Idle Time, Total Miles, and Average Speed.

  • Driver Ranking: Leaderboard table to compare drivers side-by-side by Safety or Efficiency scores.

  • Drivers by Fleetr Score & Components (Scatter Plot): Bubble plot mapping drivers across customizable X, Y, and Bubble Size variables (e.g., Vertical: Safety, Horizontal: Hard Acceleration, Bubble Size: Hard Braking) to spot outliers instantly.

  • Fleet Components Score Time Series: Line graph tracking fleet-wide safety or efficiency trends week-over-week. Toggle Show All Components to display line graphs for all individual sub-metrics simultaneously.

Driver View Tab

Drill down into an individual driver's profile using the driver selection dropdown:

  • Driver Metrics: Displays total Distance Traveled, Driving Time, Number of Trips, Maximum Speed, and calculated rates per mile (e.g., Extreme Hard Brakes per mile, Hard Brakes per mile, Rapid Accels per mile, Sharp Turns per mile, Idle Time).

  • Component Radar Charts: Interactive spider charts mapping driver strengths and weaknesses across Safety and Efficiency criteria.

  • Driver Time Series: Dual trend graphs showing overall score changes over time alongside detailed sub-component metric trends over selected date ranges.

3. Generating & Emailing Custom Score Reports

You can export or send score analytics directly from the module using the Generate Report option on the upper right side of the dashboard:

  1. Click Generate Report to open the Score Custom Email Request window.

  2. Choose a preset report type (e.g., Complex Linechart, Include Sub Reports, or Technical Mode) or select Customize your Report.

  3. Select your desired date range using the date picker.

  4. Check Custom Email to input specific email addresses for teammates or stakeholders who need to receive the report.

  5. Click Show Report to view it on screen, or click Send Report By Email to dispatch it immediately.
