We are excited that you have chosen to partner with us! This is a quick setup guide to your asset tracker device.
Five hours recommended for a full charge
Install the device on your asset (inside or outside). Use zip ties, screws, double-sided tape, rivets, or even duct tape, or simply place the device inside a pocket or compartment. Keep the top of the unit away from wiring and metal objects.
The cellular and GPS antennas work well through plastics and fiberglass but not wiring and metal. For best results, keep the top of the unit generally open to the sky. The base plate can be mounted directly on most surfaces.
Your asset tracker comes with a rubber dust plug to cover the charging port for normal use. Also included are high-quality adhesive PVC hole covers, for use when your asset tracker is exposed to the weather.
This device complies with part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) This device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation.
When no GPS is found (e.g. inside a metal building), we use cell trilateration to provide a general location (often within 1/2 mile). Cell trilateration will decrease battery life. Continual movement lowers battery life. The assets tracker pings on its location every hour and the battery last from 3-6 months.
